How To Help More People

How many people do you want to help? Many coaches say they want to help thousands or even millions of people. This is a very noble goal, but it is very hard to achieve if all you offer are one-on-one services.

Let's say you can work with your customers one-on-one 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. And let's also assume that you spend an hour to work with each client. Of course, many professionals can't help a client in just one hour; they need to spend more time to assess the client's needs and offer a viable solution. But for the sake of the argument, let's assume you can help a client by spending one hour with him or her.

This means that you can help at most 8 people a day or 40 people a week. You will need 125 days, or 25 weeks, to complete the 1-hour short consulting service for 1,000 clients. Note that we didn't allocate any time for marketing. You will need additional time to market your services. This will expand the time required to much more than 25 weeks.

And I am not just talking about paid services; even if you offer one hour of coaching or consulting at no charge to introduce your services to potential customers, you will still need to market your no charge services, and than you will need to deliver the service to one client at a time.

As you can see, it will take a long time to touch a thousand people with your services. Is there a way to speed up the process and help more people in the same amount of time? The answer is a resounding YES. To help more people you need to offer products to your target market. When you offer products, you spend the time creating them once, but by continuously marketing them you can reach many people. Here is how to do that:

You need to reach your target market. Make reaching out to groups a key part of your marketing strategy. This way you can reach more of your customers at the same time and save time on marketing. There are a few different strategies you can apply. You can reach groups of people by speaking in front of audiences comprised of your target market. You can reach your target market by sending out press releases and being interviewed in newspapers and on television. You can reach your target market online by using search engine optimization to get yourself in front of millions of people who use search engines to locate information as well as products and services. Offer a no charge product, such as an audio recording or special report that you give to your target market in exchange for subscribing to your newsletter.

To reach people with for-fee products, offer products in different media and different price ranges. Different people learn differently, so by offering information in both audio and text you can reach more people. The same applies to product price ranges. Some people will need information on a very specific topic, and for those a cheaper special reports will work best. Others need to learn a lot of information, and those people need a more expensive course with text, audio, and video. Others may want to be able to get in touch with you anytime to ask questions. A mid-priced membership program will serve those best.

As you can see, creating and selling your own products will enable you to help many more people using your expertise.
