Did you know that the demand for your products and services is about to go up? The back to school season about to start, and millions of children will need new school supplies. Everyone knows that the back to school season brings about an increased demand in traditional school products: backpacks, notebooks, school uniforms, pens and pencils. What not all business owners realize, though, is that the back to school season also produces a spike in sales of non-school related products and services.

I always notice an increased demand for my marketing products and services in August and September, even though the vast majority of students do not use online business consulting services and products. Why is that? Because many business owners take a break in the summer to go on vacation with their kids, visit relatives, etc. They can take this time off because the kids are off from school. During the summer people are not buying as many things for their home or their business, and are deferring home improvement and other projects until sometime later. Once it is time for kids to go back to school, adults go back to working on their business and taking care of home improvement and other chores around the house. Once the summer winds down, there is an increased demand for many different products and services.

So how can you take advantage of this increased demand? Here are three tips to help you capitalize on the upcoming increase in demand for your products:

- Market your business every day to capture as much new demand as possible. Even if the demand for your products and services increases, your potential customers need to know that your business exists in order to order from you. If no one knows that your business exists, no one will be able to hire your services or purchase your products.

Make sure that you schedule time every day to get the word out about your business. You can do that in many different ways. Online networking, search engine optimization, article marketing, and business blogging, are all excellent ways to get the word out about your business.

- Have a mailing list to subscribe to on your web site. More demand also means that more people will be coming to your web site. While not all of them will engage your services or buy your products, you want to be able to keep in touch with as many of them as possible.

- Offer products to your web site visitors. You might not be able to accommodate everyone who needs your one-on-one services, but you will be able to sell an e-book or audio recording to anyone who needs one.

The demand for your products and services is about to go up - make sure you take advantage of it.
