How To Communicate The Value Of Your Services

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Many coaches, consultants, web designers, virtual assistants and other service business owners have trouble charging enough for their services. I find that the best way to be able to charge your price for your services is by clearly communicating the value of your services and building relationships with your customers BEFORE they become customers.

When your potential client has a relationship with you PRIOR to requesting your services, they don’t want just the services that you provide, they also want to work with YOU in particular. At that point you don’t have any competition, because, well, there is only one of YOU in the universe :)

The vast majority of my one-on-one clients come to me because they already know me, have seen some of what I can do and are hungry to use more of my expertise to help them promote their business.

They have heard me speak, bought my products, attended my teleseminars or have been reading my newsletter. They are already familiar with who I am and what I can do. I also find that I don’t need to convince them to hire me. They come to me ready to hire me, because my products and my newsletter have made the case for me.

This is why I strongly recommend to my clients, who are service business owners, to spend their marketing time on promoting their expertise and building their newsletter list.
When people subscribe to your newsletter, they enter your sphere of influence. Every time you send them your newsletter you are building a relationship. Once your potential customers get to know you as an expert, they will be much more likely to buy from you.

The key to getting paid for your expertise and your services is to build relationships with many of your potential customers. The best way to do that is by building a large newsletter list and sending out effective newsletters on a regular basis.

Next week I am teaching How To Triple The Number Of Your Newsletter Subscribers Teleseminar during which you can learn how to get more newsletter subscribers. You can learn more about the teleseminar at

Need More Newsletter Subscribers?

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

I am sure that you have heard that if you have a large newsletter list, you can make a lot of money.

However, it is hard to build a large newsletter list. It takes a lot of time and effort to find qualified subscribers and convince them to subscribe to your list.

There are many different ways to get more subscribers, and recently I have been testing a brand new technique to gain more subscribers. The technique is creating a lead generation web site - a web site of interest to your target market.

I am happy to report that I have been getting great results using this technique.

This week at MarketingSalad.com I am sharing the information about how I have created my lead generation web site. I am also sharing with members 5 unique ways to create different lead generation web sites - all of them are designed to get you more subscribers.

Back To Business

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

Hi, everyone

I’ve had a fun summer - we went on a few trips and I took some time off to enjoy the weather. But while I am taking the time off, my business is still working for me - this is the beauty of setting up an online system, that works for you while you are on vacation. It is great to login to your e-mail to see all the orders and inquiries that came while I was taking time off.

I also spent some time this summer working, and I will be launching a new product in the next few weeks. This product is something that many, many solopreneurs have asked me for, and I haven’t seen a similar product anywhere. If you’d like to hear more about it once it launches, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter at
http://www.avocadoconsulting.com/free_newsletter.html

I have spent a lot of time in the beginning building a solid business foundation and creating an online marketing system for my business. This system is paying off - I can take time off, and my clients can still purchase my products and use lots of other resources I provide, without my direct involvement. And I can earn money without being involved in every single business operation.

I am looking forward to the 4th Quarter and expecting great results from it!

How about you - how was your summer? What are you looking for in the 4th quarter?

How To Find Time To Market And Work With Clients

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

A business owner recently asked me how to devote time to marketing (and get results from marketing) and still have enough time left to work with existing clients and create products.

Here are my recommendations:

- With your client work, schedule your time and don’t procrastinate. When you have scheduled 2 hours to do client work, spend the 2 hours to do just that. No checking e-mail, no phone calls - just do the work you need to get done. You will be amazed how much you can accomplish in just 2 hours if you stick to your plan.

- When you are marketing, spend some time learning about an online marketing technique, what the implications of using it are, what results to expect, etc. Then, break the techniques into bite-sized chunks you can do, and schedule those chunks. You will be able to accomplish much more when you understand the techniques, and know what results to expect from them.

At http://www.MarketingSalad.com I help members understand online marketing techniques by breaking them into smaller, understandable, step-by-step directions. Learn how to market and get results - join us at http://www.MarketingSalad.com

Here is what one of MarketingSalad.com members says about the step-by-step marketing directions available:

“Biana’s how-to guides have given me simple, step-by-step procedures that are easy to implement. The classes have been amazing. I believe she gives more in a one-hour teleclass than I ever got in other classes on the same subject, combined!”

Top 3 Ways To Get Web Site Traffic

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Here is a question I was asked a few weeks ago:

Biana, if you could only use three techniques to generate web site traffic, what would they be?

Well, I hope I can use more then just three techniques (because I already use many more), but here are 3 of my favorite ways to generate traffic:

Business Blogging. Start a blog for your business and update it on a regular basis. A business blog is an excellent tool to toot your own horn, let the world know about your new products, and tell your target customers why they should do business with you, rather than your competitor. A business blog is also a great tool for attracting potential customers to your blog and your web site.
Search Engine Optimization (or SEO). SEO is the process of modifying web page content and meta-information to improve the search engine ranking of the page. Successful search engine optimization will greatly increase the number of visitors that come to your web site since over 70% of people who are looking for products and services use search engines to locate them.

Article Writing and Publishing. This is another great way to drive traffic to your web site. When you write and publish your articles, other web site owners pick them up and publish them on their web sites, while giving you a link back to your web site.

Need more clients? You can learn how to use business blogging, search engine optimization, article writing and publishing to get more clients at MarketingSalad.com, the online business coaching community for solopreneurs. Here is what one of MarketingSalad.com members says about her membership:

“I came to Marketing Salad with many, many things on my “to-do” list. Most had been there for at least a couple of years. They were things like writing and submitting articles on the internet, starting a blog, increasing my newsletter list, and on and on. I read articles and listened to classes trying to learn how to accomplish these tasks, but I never took action, it was too overwhelming.

After joining Marketing Salad just a couple of months ago, I have been on a roll! Biana’s how-to guides have given me simple, step-by-step procedures that are easy to implement. The classes have been amazing. I believe she gives more in a one-hour teleclass than I ever got in other classes on the same subject, combined! I now have several things crossed off of my to-do list. I have a system for writing and distributing articles and have submitted eight so far. I am currently having two blogs set up for me and I am ready to start blogging thanks to Biana’s class. I have implemented many ideas for growing my newsletter list. And, my favorite part is if I have a question, I can just ask on the forum. I can always get my questioned answered and talk with other business owners who are willing to share information and experience with me.

Thanks, Biana for Marketing Salad! I can now spend more of my time with clients instead of marketing! I am so glad I found you!

Another Way To Get More Newsletter Subscribers

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006

Publishing a newsletter on a regular basis is a great way to build relationships with your potential clients. The more targeted newsletter subscribers you have, the more people are exposed to your expertise and are able to become your clients.

Therefore, as a business owner, you must use different online marketing techniques to continuously grow your newsletter list.

One way to grow your list that many business owners overlook is by using pay-per-click search engines. With pay per click search engines you don’t have to do search engine optimization; rather, you pay for every click that is sent to your web site.

Last week in the forum at MarketingSalad.com I discussed how I use pay-per-click to get newsletter subscribers. Get access to that discussion, and much, much more at MarketingSalad.com

Here is what one of the members said about MarketingSalad.com:

“The forum is packed full of advice, tips and a wealth of information. Anything I want to know about online marketing I can either find the answers there or ask the question myself.

As a result of your advice on Search Engine Optimization I updated my web site and ever since I have been getting a lot of enquiries and even better, taken on several new clients!”
