Beyond Your One-on-One Coaching Services

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

I have met many different coaches – business coaches, life coaches, career coaches and many others, who think that the only way they can help people in their target market is by providing one-on-one coaching services to their clients.

However, when you only provide one-on-one coaching services, you are not able to help all the people that you want to help. Your one-on-one coaching services are outside of many people’s price range, so, as a result, many people will not be able to get access to your help and your expertise, if the only thing that you offer are your one-on-one services.

When you go beyond one-on-one coaching services and start offering products and programs in addition to services, great things happen. Because your products are priced lower than your services, more people are able to work with you. More people will be able to get results from working with you, and you will be able to share your expertise with more people and increase your revenues – what could be better?

Here are three different ways for to you move beyond offering one-on-one coaching services and start to offer products as well:

Group Coaching Services is a great way to help people in your target market. When you offer group coaching, both you and your group members get a ton of benefits. You get to work with many people in your target market, share your brilliance and your ideas.

They get to get your coaching at prices that are much lower than your one-on-one fees. This way everyone wins!

Teleseminars. Teleseminars are classes that you can teach over the phone. Are there topics that your target market is interested in? Create a teleseminar on one of these topics and invite your target market to join you on these calls.

Teleseminars allow you to help many people at the same time and offer your target market access to your knowledge and expertise at a much lower fee.

Home Study Guides. Package your knowledge and information into different media – audio, video, text documents, etc. Use these different documents to create Home Study Guides – packages that contain information in many different formats.

I have just outlined three additional ways to go beyond offering one-on-one services and start adding more products and income streams to your service business. Create Your Information Products Empire – Today!

Friday, June 5th, 2009

If you are still on the fence about whether to create your own information products, here are just some of the reasons to have your own information products empire:

– More revenue. When you sell your information products, you will bring in more revenue. It is as simple as that.

– More time to do with as you please. Take more time off, spend more time with your family, and go on vacation. Do something else while your information products are bringing in more revenue.

– More control over your business. When you have information products, you don’t have to work with everyone who wants to work with you. You can choose to only work with the clients whom you truly enjoy working with.

How To Do A Teleseminar

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Have you ever heard the saying, “If you want to learn how to do something really well, teach it to others”? It follows from this saying that people who teach others usually have a good command of the material. In short, they are experts at what they do.

Teaching a class in something you know is also a great way to demonstrate your expertise to your potential clients. Teaching is a very versatile marketing technique and it is very easy to use teaching to promote your expertise both online and offline.

In addition to all of the above, offering teleseminars is becoming a necessity for service businesses. In today’s economy it is extremely important to be able to offer lower-priced products in addition to services so that you can serve the people who can’t afford to work with you one-on-one.

If you are just starting out using teaching to work with more potential clients and increase
your business revenues in today’s economy, here is the teleseminar how-to plan for you:

Decide Whether You Want To Teach Your First Class Locally Or Teach A Global Teleseminar
Over The Phone

I recommend offering a teleseminar, because when you teach over the phone, you aren’t restricting yourself to a small geographical area. When you teach teleseminars, you can promote them to a much larger group of customers.

When you teach over the phone, people from all over the world can join in on your calls. When I teach my teleseminars, I have participants from many US states and several other countries joining me on the calls.

Decide Whether To Charge For The Teleseminar Or Whether To Offer A Free Teleseminar

If this is the very first teleseminar you have ever taught, offer it free. You will get lots of people attending, and it will be a great training session for you to experience offering teleseminars over the phone.

You will also be using teleseminar equipment such as bridge line and you will also be doing teleseminar recording. You want to iron our all the details and see that you are able to use all the teleseminar equipment without any technical issues before you start to actually charge others for your teleseminars.

Find Topics For Your Teleseminars

Finding the right topic for your teleseminar is extremely important. If you find a topic that is of interest to your target customers, you will get lots of teleseminar participants. If you pick a topic that is not of interest to them, very few (if any) people will register.

Decide When Your Teleseminar Will Take Place And Start Promoting It

Create a marketing plan for promoting your teleseminar. You will see that if you have a plan, you will get better results and get more participants for your calls.

That’s it – now you are ready to do a teleseminar! Teaching teleseminars is a great technique to get more clients and increase your revenues in today’s economy.

How To Increase Revenues During Recession

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

I have been getting many questions from business owners about how to get clients and increase revenues in a recession. One of the best ways to do that is by creating information products. Here is why:

Offer Lower Priced Options

In today’s economy many people can’t afford to pay for your services. You have two choices: don’t offer any products, and you won’t help any of the people who can’t afford your services. Or, you can offer products and help and create additional revenues with those who can’t afford your one-on-one services.

Help Thousands More People

Even though we are in a recession, your clients still need help and your expertise. This means that you can still help people; you just need to be more creative about it. When you only work one-on-one with your clients, you can only work with a very limited number of people. Create your own information products and you will be able to help thousands of people!

Become Known As An Expert

In today’s economy it is more important than ever to be known as an expert, because when people do decide to spend their money, they spend their money with experts.

Take a look at people who you consider experts. Chances are, they all have products that they offer for sale: e-books, books, teleseminars, etc. When you offer products for sale you are seen as an expert by your target market.

Here are some products that you can create:

– Special Reports And E-books. Both of these are text documents. Special reports are usually shorter documents (about 5-25 pages). E-books tend to run longer. I have seen e-books anywhere from 20 and 400 pages.

– Audio Products are voice recordings of one or more people. There are many options available to you to create audio products. You can create an audio product simply by recording yourself, recording an interview with you, or by recording a class, a lecture, or a workshop.

– Teleclasses And Teleseminars. Teaching classes over the phone is an excellent way to demonstrate your expertise to many people at once and to offer your coaching or consulting sessions at a lower price point.

– Community and Membership Web Sites. Membership web sites, blogs and forums are becoming very popular among solopreneurs and online business owners. Many solopreneurs and business owners are repackaging their knowledge, information and expertise and selling it through membership web sites.

Take action and create a plan to create information products today! You will become known as an expert, create additional income streams and help many more people. How To Make Money During Recession

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

In the past few months, many business owners have asked me about what a business should do in order to make money and get clients in a recession.

My answer is very simple. If you want your business to be extremely successful at any time, you must continuously market it. Marketing is not a one-time event; rather, it is a continuous process that will bring leads and clients to your business on an ongoing basis. If you want to be healthy, you can’t only take good care of yourself sometimes; you must eat healthy, exercise and practice healthy habits when you are sick and when you are well. In business, whether you are succeeding (even despite a recession) or struggling, the prescription is the same.

Here are my five strategies to help you make money and get clients during recession:

– Create A Marketing Mindset. Many business are not marketing their business, because they feel that marketing is somehow sleazy. However, as the economy gets worse, you will have to market even more in order to get clients.

Remember, you are not trying to sell people what they don’t need. Your potential clients have real problems and they need real help. When you market, you let them know that you can help them. What can be more valuable than that? You are not trying to sell them something they don’t want, but something they want and need!

– Build Your List! The most important ability that a business can have is the ability to contact many people in your target market at once. You want to be able to share your expertise and information about your new offerings with many people at one time. Doing this is the best way to get service clients and product buyers.

In uncertain economic times, the ability to contact many people in your target market at once becomes even more important, because doing this is still an extremely effective technique to promote your offerings.

When you have a large list, with subscribers being members of your target market, you will be able to fill up your teleseminars and get more clients by just sending an email to your list.

– Offer Products In Addition To Services. It has always been extremely important to offer products in addition to services, because it is easier to convince your potential customers to spend $20-$50 on a product rather than $200-$500 on a service.

In today’s economy, it is even more important to offer products in addition to services. Many of your potential clients still need the solutions that you offer, but they may not want or be able to pay for your one-on-one services given the current state of the economy.

However, since they need what you have to offer, they will be more willing to pay for your products, such as seminars, teleseminars, and e-books.

Having products and services in different prices ranges will help you introduce your expertise to a wider audience, reach more people, and, ultimately, gain more clients.

How To Use Your List To Get Clients

Monday, June 30th, 2008

After reading my my blog posts on list building, many coaches have asked me what comes next. Once you get some people on your list, how do you leverage your list to get clients, make money and improve your business?

Just like with using any other marketing technique, in order to get the best results from your newsletter, you need to create a plan to get clients, make money and get results with your newsletter list.

Here are some things to think about and include into your plan:

You Need To Bring In More Subscribers Every Single Day. Your target customers subscribe to your list and they also unsubscribe. Your goal for your newsletter list is to have as many people as possible see your message and learn about your business. Therefore the more people you can attract to your list, the better.

Publish Your Newsletter On A Regular Basis. Your subscribers will not do business with you and will not buy from you unless they hear from you. The only way they will know about your expertise and about what you have to offer is by reading your newsletter issues.

Research shows that people need to hear from you on average 7 times (sometimes many more!) to buy something from you.

If you want results from your newsletter, such as more clients and more money, you need to publish! Publish your newsletter on a regular basis with useful information that your subscribers want to know about AND promo’s of your own products and services. A win-win for everyone.

Create Products In Different Price Ranges. While lots of people are interested in coaching, the vast majority of them will never become your one-on-one coaching clients.

Some can’t afford one-on-one services, others may be able to afford them, but are not at the stage where they can justify the money they are going to spend.

But many more people would be willing to pay for group coaching, ebook, audio and other products because they cost much less than one-on-one service packages.

Create your own products and offer them to your list – that way you are using your list to build passive income streams for your business.

In my Grow Your List Home Study Course I discuss how to use your list to get clients, make money and create passive income streams. Check it out at https://www.avocadoconsulting.com/rlinks/znews

Use Your Newsletter To Get Clients

Monday, May 12th, 2008

One of the first things that I teach my clients is how to to start and use a newsletter that will get them clients – every time.

A newsletter is a great way to connect with your potential customers, build relationships with them and get more clients and more sales. My newsletter has been a source of clients and product sales for many years for me. This is why starting and publishing an effective newsletter is one of the first steps I teach to my clients who want to run a profitable and sustainable coaching business.

If you don’t publish a newsletter yet, you should start doing it now! Here is how to get started publishing a newsletter:

Pick a newsletter publishing service to use to send out your newsletter – there are many to choose from. Aweber, 1 Shopping Cart and many more. Compare the pricing and features that each service offers, and see which ones you will need for your business.

Make a commitment to sending your newsletter out on a regular basis. The only way to build a relationship with your subscribers and convince them to buy from you is by being in touch on a regular basis. You have to make a commitment to send out your newsletter on a regular basis, otherwise you are just wasting your time.

Offer a free gift to everyone who subscribes. A gift can be an e-book, audio recording, special report, etc. You want to bring in as many subscribers as possible, and an attractive gift that your potential subscribers want will convince more of them to subscribe to your newsletter. More subscribers = more potential customers to keep in touch with and build relationships with!

Write an effective newsletter that provides your subscribers with value and at the same time promotes your products and services. When people read your newsletter, they want to read valuable information that is going to help them. Use your newsletter to promote your expertise and share information with your subscribers at the same time.

Your newsletter should provide a nice balance of tips for your subscribers and at the same time let them know about your offerings.

In my Grow Your List Home Study Course I share the exact steps for starting and publishing a newsletter that will help you get more clients and product sales. You can grab it at https://www.avocadoconsulting.com/rlinks/znews

When Should You Stop Marketing?

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

A few years ago a client of mine asked me when he will be able to stop marketing. “Well”, he said, “I am marketing to get more clients. Once I have enough clients I can stop marketing, right?”

I said: “Imagine that two of your clients decide to stop working with you. You will immediately need two new clients, but you will not be able to get them immediately because you are not marketing.”

After talking about this for a bit, we came to a conclusion that he will never be able to stop marketing.

Has anyone ever stopped marketing? Only if they closed their business.

Think about commercials you see on TV every day. The commercials that we see on TV are commercials for huge companies whose names everyone knows – Pepsi, Ford, etc. Everyone knows what their name is and what they do. But that does not stop them from using commercials to promote their brand and promote their new products.

So when should you stop marketing? The answer is never.

If you do not have enough clients in your business, you need to continue marketing. But even if you have enough clients (and have more clients on your waiting list), you should still continue to market your business. Here is why:

It takes time to convert a lead into a client. Imagine you need new clients all of a sudden, but you have no one in your pipeline. If you haven’t marketed in a long time, you will not have any leads or prospects to convert into clients, and, therefore, you will have to get started by marketing for leads and prospects.

If you always market your pipeline is always full and you always have plenty of prospects to turn into clients.

You reach new potential clients every time you market. That’s true! Every time I market, whether I am doing search engine optimization, speak in front of a group or teach a class, I get in front of people who didn’t know about me before, but are now exposed to my expertise.

Every time you market you reach new potential clients who have the potential to turn into real clients – how cool is that?

You get more product sales. Even if you do not need one-on-one clients, marketing is going to help you get more product sales and use your multiple streams of income to increase your bottom line.

How To Create New Income Streams In Under 10 Minutes

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

A few weeks ago I wrote an article on how to stay in business and get clients during an economic downturn. One of the recommendations I made in that article was to create products, such as e-books, classes, audio, seminars and more that you can offer for sale to those who don’t want to spend the money on your services.

Your products cost less than your services, so when your potential customers are not willing to spend money on your services during the downturn, you can offer them your products. This way, both of you win! Your potential customers will still get help that they need and you can still make money with your knowledge.

The products will also help you create multiple streams of income for your business, so that you do not have to rely just on your services to bring in revenue.

After that article came out, I have been getting many e-mails from readers. Quite a few of you asked
me what to do if you are not ready to create products yet, but you do want to create multiple streams of income in your business.

The answer is to use someone else’s products through an affiliate program.

So how do you pick affiliate programs to join? Here are some tips:

Pick an affiliate program with many different products that will be of interest to your target market.

– It is even better if you already used a few of those products, because that way you will be able to recommend them.

Join that program, learn a bit about the products, and start promoting them.

Need an affiliate program to join? I would love for you to join my affiliate program and use my popular products to create passive income streams for your business. You can sign up for my affiliate program absolutely FREE and for every sale that you refer you will earn 40% commissions. Register for the affiliate program, FREE, at

And when you register for the affiliate program you will also receive an invitation to a no charge training session I am doing for my affiliates on May 6th. During this session you will discover the step-by-step process to use my products to create many passive income streams for your business. I will teach you about which products to promote and how to promote them, so that you can save time and not have to learn everything on your own.

How To Achieve Balance In Your Business

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Is your business in balance? Or are you working on 25 projects and 15 marketing initiatives at once, all while thinking: “I should really be using this brand new social networking site that I just heard about!” ?

If that sounds like you, it is time to re-think how you do business and see if you can prioritize your actions, while still accomplishing everything.

Here are some of the things I do in order to achieve more balance in my business:

Automate everything that I can. Lots of things can be automated online – scheduling of blog posts, automatic product fulfillment, ezine software, etc.

Take action: Take advantage of technology to automatically get people subscribing to your list, downloading your products, registering for your classes, etc.

Outsource tasks that I don’t enjoy doing and can’t automate.

Take action: Take a look at everything you are doing and see which ones can be outsourced.

Long term scheduling. I always know what’s coming up for my business for the next 6+ months. That way I can plan the tasks I need to do, marketing I need to do, etc.

When you know what’s coming up long term, you can schedule backwards. For example, if one of your goals is to have an ebook written by the end of October, 2008, you know that there are tasks that need to get done every month/week/day in order for this to happen.

Take action: Create your marketing plan!

Multiple streams of income. Creating products, such as seminars, ebooks and my mentoring program has really improved my work/life balance.

I can have as many or as few one-on-one clients as I want. (I usually have 3-7 clients at any given time), and I don’t put my marketing efforts into getting one-on-one clients.

Instead, my marketing is concentrated on getting leads for my business.

Take action: Create multiple streams of income for your business!
