How To Promote Your Ecourses

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Have you written an ecourse to get more newsletter subscribers? Now is the time to promote it. Here is how:

The best way to promote your e-course is to market it where your target market is. This is what I have done with my free offering, Top 5 Ways To Increase Online Sales, and it has brought me great results.

Here are online marketing ideas to help you get started:

- Online networking. Find groups where your target market networks online and join them. There are many places to find such groups - find groups on Yahoo groups, use search engines to locate them, etc.

Once you become a member, network in these groups and provide useful tips, so that other members can get to know you. Don’t forget to promote your e-course in your signature.

- Article marketing. Write articles that are of benefit to your target market, and submit them to article directories and niche web sites that your target market reads. Don’t forget to include a link to your e-course in the Resource Box that you submit with the article.

In addition to being posted in article directories and niche web sites, your articles will be re-printed in other people’s newsletters, on web sites and blogs, providing your e-course more exposure.

- Search engine optimization. Create a well-written page on your web site to promote your e-course and optimize it for search engines. That way you can get your perfect customers, who are using the search engines, to come to your web site and sign-up.

I have written many articles on how to use online networking, article marketing and search engine optimization to promote a coaching business. Click here to read articles on how to use online networking, article marketing and search engine optimization to promote a coaching business.

It’s Cold - Network Online!

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

It’s been freezing outside — we had temperatures below zero in the past week or so. Of course in this kind of weather everyone tries to minimize the amount of time they have to be outside.

I feel really bad for business owners who have to attend face-to-face business networking events now — they have to dress, brave the elements and spend a lot of time behind the wheel to drive in the bitterly cold and snowy weather.

But there is a much better and easier way to network! It is called online networking. No need to dress and drive to an event in horrible weather — you can network online on your own time from your own computer.

Next week I am hosting a FREE online networking event, and there is no charge to attend it. Join other business owners to network, get the word out about your business and to create partnerships. Click Here To Register For MarketingSalad.com Online Networking Event

How To Find Your Target Market Online

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

There are many ways to find your target market:

- Online networking is a great way to get in touch with your target market. You are already networking on Ryze, so explore other online networking venues. Yahoo groups, LinkedIn, Xing, Ecademy and others are great places to reach out to your target market.

- Publishing articles and submitting them to online directories is another great way to reach your target market. When you write articles that are of interest to your target market, your target market reads them and visits your web site. I have gotten many newsletter subscribers and web site visitors through my articles.

- Search engine optimization is fabulous for this. Over 70% of online users are using search engines to locate the products and services that they need. This means that your customers are searching for your products and services every single day. You need to find the keywords that your target market uses, and make sure that your web site can be found in search engines using these keywords.

- Business blogging can be used to show your expertise, attract your target market to your blog and get more search engine traffic.

My Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course discusses, step-by-step, how to these and other online marketing methods to reach your target market online.

However, it is not enough to get your target market to come to your web site - you want to keep in touch with them and market to them in the future. For this purpose I recommend having a newsletter on your web site, that your target market can subscribe to.

How To Make Money With Online Networking

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

Many people have asked me how to use participation in online groups to their best advantage. I participate in my groups, and I run my own online groups as well.

There are different reasons for why people join online groups. Some join to purely gain information. If that is your reason, you can stay quiet and still gain a lot of insight and information from reading messages.

But, if you join a group to become known by your potential customers, to get more people to know you and to promote your business, you need to participate!

Participate by offering your opinion, answering questions in the field of your expertise and by helping other participants. This is how I usually participate in online networking, and this helped me gain many partners and customers.

Read my article, How To Make Money With Online Networking for more insight into using online networking to gain clients.

Are You Networking Online Consistently?

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

One of the things I discussed during the Online Networking That Gets Results Teleseminar last week was the importance of being a consistent online networker.

Being consistent to me means networking at least once a week (preferably 2-3 times a week), so that people you network with get to know you, learn about you and your business, trust your expertise and ultimately are able to become your clients or refer others to you.

Sometimes during my online networking I meet people who I call drive-by networkers. These are the people who you see networking online once in a blue moon. When they network, the really network. They spend an entire day or two visiting different online networks, making a splash, creating a flurry of activity, chatting with people and then disappearing from the networking radar until the next blue moon makes its appearance.

Drive-by networkers become active in networking when they have a lull in business. Naturally, they come to the startling realization that they need to do some business development. They jump into networking full force, and spend a day (or two, or three) networking online non-stop. Then they get bored or get a call from a client or decide to use alternate business development strategies and disappear until the next time business is slow.

Being a drive-by networker is a complete waste of time and resources for a variety of reasons:
When you network once every few months, no one remembers you. Every time you come to the same online network, you have to spend the time re-introducing yourself, instead of jumping right into networking.
The best way to gain leads and clients while networking is to be accepted as an expert in your field. You must have a public track record in the field before you can be considered an expert. People generally have a hard time remembering your track record if they can barely recall who you are.
A drive-by networker spends days at a time networking. As useful as networking is, this get very boring very fast. This is reflected in drive-by networker’s posts: they show no signs of life and are incredibly dull. This is only natural — imagine spending a few days doing exactly the same thing over and over again.Remember - don’t be a drive-by networker. Instead, network on a regular basis to get to know others and create business relationships that will last for a long time. If Online Networking Is NOT Bringing Results, STOP Networking

Monday, August 28th, 2006

If you are spending time networking online and not getting any clients, STOP NETWORKING ONLINE. That’s right - you should stop wasting your time. I always tell my clients that if what you are doing is not bringing clients, you should either stop doing that, or learn how to it right.
I have met hundreds of solopreneurs, who have told me that they have spent countless hours networking online on different forums, and they did not land a single client from their efforts. Why do they keep doing it then?

When I work with my clients, we constantly evaluate different online marketing techniques they use, and how many leads and clients they bring in every day. We refine them, and we drop some, so that we can concentrate on he efforts that bring the most customers for the same amount of work. If you want to work fewer hours, while still making full time income, you need to maximize the returns, while minimizing the hours you actually spend working.

Therefore, if your online networking efforts are not bring in the results you want, you should do the following:

- Evaluate your online networking strategy. Are you networking with your target customers? Are you networking in groups visited by your target customers?

- Understand your online networking goals. You need to be very clear on what your networking goals are, and what it will take to reach them.

- Re-define your online networking strategy. You need to change your strategy in order to get RESULTS from networking online.
To learn more about Networking Online and getting RESULTS, join me for the Online Networking That Gets Results Teleseminar. Here is what you will learn:

* The very first step you must take to establish yourself as a credible expert, while networking online

* The critical information on dramatically increasing the number of people visiting your web site, after they encountered you during online networking. Almost everyone I have met gets this wrong.

* Little known ways to create online deals and opportunities that will help you promote your products and services to a bigger audience

and much more.

The teleseminar will take place on August 31st at 8pm Eastern and it costs just $19 to attend.

Marketing and Politics: Political Candidates on MySpace

Monday, August 21st, 2006

I have written a bit about MySpace and Marketing - MySpace and Marketing and Product Placement and MySpace.

But MySpace is not for promoting the latest movies and gadgets anymore - now politicians are moving in. According to this article, Political candidates court MySpace voters, many political hopefuls are creating MySpace profiles are are using MySpace to reach potential voters.

The article says that:

“In many ways, these free, user-driven community sites are to this year’s races what blogs were to campaigns two years ago. They are not replacements for traditional staples like TV ads and direct mailings, but they offer the latest venues for campaigns to reach younger voters and mobilize them to volunteer.”

What do you think? Is MySpace going to help get politicians elected?
