There are two ways to increase your product sales:
1. Get more of your existing web site visitors to buy.
2. Drive more targeted web site visitors to your web site.
I would recommend doing both. Let’s see how:
1. There are many things you can do to increase sales to existing web site visitors:
- Make it easy for your web site visitors to find products they need. You can do that by having a professional and user-friendly web site.
- Make a compelling case for buying your products. Once your web site visitors find the products they need, you need to convince them that they have to buy your products. You do that by writing compelling web copy and sales letters.
- Make the checkout process easy. Even if a buyer thinks that she needs your products, she will leave your web site if the checkout process confuses her. Make the process as easy as possible.
2. Here is how you can drive more targeted web site visitors to your web site:
- By publishing your newsletter on a regular basis, and using it to drive your readers to your products pages. A newsletter is a great way to keep in touch with potential customers and increase your product sales.
- By doing search engine optimization and making sure that your products can be found in search engines. I have traced many of my own products sales to people finding them in search engines and buying them - this is a very powerful way to get new customers.
- By doing article marketing. Another one of my favorite marketing techniques. Many of my articles have been re-printed on various blogs and web sites, which increased my name recognition and sent many web site visitors to my web site.
I also recommend business blogging, holding free teleseminars and events and online networking to get more web site visitors.
My Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course discusses, step-by-step, how to use different online marketing methods to sell more of your products online.

There are no guarantees in online marketing, but by investing.time into your online marketing strategy, you can start getting more traffic to your web site. Here are a few things I recommend doing:
- Search engine optimization. Create effective content for your web site and make sure that your content includes keywords that people use to search for your products/services. Once you find keywords that you can use, weave them into the tags as well as web site text.
- Article marketing. Write articles on the subject of your expertise and submit them to article directories. Don’t forget to create an effective Resource Box for every article, and include a reason for the article reader to click on the link to your web site.
Article marketing helps to introduce your expertise to people who would have never known about you otherwise, and it helps you gain more links (and more traffic) to
your web site.
- Business blogging is another great way to bring in web site traffic. Start a blog and make sure you update it on a regular basis. Make sure you list your blog in Blog Directories, Technorati, etc, so that potential customers can find your blog, subscribe to it and read it on a regular basis.
I have written dozens of articles on search engine optimization, article marketing, blogging and more, they should help you learn more about getting web site traffic.
And for step-by-step instructions on getting more web site traffic, get the Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course.

If you follow the news, you have probably heard that the US population reached 300 million yesterday. The population increase means increased demand for products and services, which is good news for business owners. More people living in the country translates into increased demand for everything from soap to gifts to jewelry to coaching services.
More people also means more crowded stores and more traffic. A few weeks ago I spent two hours going 4 miles. The experience was anything but fun.
It should not come as a surprise that more and more people prefer to shop online instead of spending the time in traffic or in overcrowded mega malls. As an online business owner, make sure that you are able to capture this increased demand and translate it into more sales from your web site.
Want to tap into the HUGE market, who is shopping more and more online? My Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course teaches you how to drive more customers to your web site and sell more products online.

When you are looking for the best target market for your business, make sure that your target market needs, wants and can afford your products and services.
Have you done some research already? Do you know for a fact that your target market needs, wants and can afford your products and services?
The best way to find your target market’s biggest challenges is by asking them. As you are talking to your prospective clients - listen to them. They will tell you what they are looking for, and what their problems are.
You should also visit online networking groups, where your target market hangs out, and learn as much as you can about your target market. When you know your target market very well, you can create really targeted products that will sell and earn you money.
I discuss how to find your target market in the very first lesson in my Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course.

Many people ask me to recommend good places to advertise their business online. Instead of always looking for advertising media and testing it, I recommend marketing the web site online, finding your audience, having it subscribe to your newsletter and continuously marketing to your audience. This will dramatically improve your return on investment and help you create a loyal following interested in what you have to offer. Here is how to do that:
- Define your target audience
- Create a newsletter that your web site visitors can subscribe to
- Using online marketing strategies, such as search engine optimization, article marketing, business blogging to drive your audience to your web site, and have it subscribe to your newsletter
Now use your newsletter and other innovative strategies to continuously promote the products. Feel free to contact me for more information - I coach business owners on using online marketing strategies to get clients.

Are you starting a business and need a domain name for it?
I always recommend a .com, because .com are still known as business domains. And I don’t recommend hyphens, as they are hard to remember. Imagine when you have to tell people your web site’s name in person or on the phone. You will have to say: “Firstword, hyphen, secondword.” Too much stuff to remember - people will remember the first and second words, but are likely to forget the hyphen.
I always recommend to my clients to make sure that the domain for their business name is available, and grab it, when they are in the initial stages of naming a business. For coaches, consultants, writers and other business owners who need to promote their expertise, a domain that is a combination of their first name and last name might work.

My blog is an excellent marketing tool for me, and it brings leads and clients to my business.
Sometime ago, my recommendation to clients was to have a web site, that has information about a business (services, products, newsletter, articles, etc), and a blog, used to communicate with potential clients. However, now some blogging software (Wordpress, for example), let’s you create web pages, as well as a blog. This really blurred the lines between web sites and blogs and let’s you create whatever you need, using that software.
My recommendation is to start blogging, and provide useful and interesting posts that your target market would want to read.
The purpose of your blog is to get people who are in your target market to read your posts and enter your sphere of influence. Traffic from search engines does not cost any money, and it is a great way to get potential customers to your blog.
Treat each one of your blog posts as a separate file to be optimized for search engines. Use a keyword research tool to find phrases that are related to the main subject of the post, and weave them into the content of the post.
My e-book, Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course contains lessons on effective business blogging, as well as keyword research and search engine optimization.

Publishing a newsletter on a regular basis is a great way to build relationships with your potential clients. The more targeted newsletter subscribers you have, the more people are exposed to your expertise and are able to become your clients.
Therefore, as a business owner, you must use different online marketing techniques to continuously grow your newsletter list.
One way to grow your list that many business owners overlook is by using pay-per-click search engines. With pay per click search engines you don’t have to do search engine optimization; rather, you pay for every click that is sent to your web site.
Last week in the forum at MarketingSalad.com I discussed how I use pay-per-click to get newsletter subscribers. Get access to that discussion, and much, much more at MarketingSalad.com
Here is what one of the members said about MarketingSalad.com:
“The forum is packed full of advice, tips and a wealth of information. Anything I want to know about online marketing I can either find the answers there or ask the question myself.
As a result of your advice on Search Engine Optimization I updated my web site and ever since I have been getting a lot of enquiries and even better, taken on several new clients!”

Every day I get questions from business owners about how to promote a business better online. What makes one web site sell much more then the other. And how to make more money, while spending less time on your online business.
Here are 5 things to focus on to take your business to the next level this year:
- Choose a Good Domain Name. Make your domain name memorable and make it stand out. Think back to domain names you remember and type in in the browser without thinking about them. What makes them memorable?
Then, pick a name that people could associate with your business. Make your domain name stand out among your competition.
- Have a Clear Message on your Web Site. How many times have you come to a web site, and left, because you weren’t sure what the web site was selling?
If you don’t capture your web site visitor’s interest right when they come to your web site, they will go elsewhere.
- Sell Great Products/Services. When you believe in your products, it shows. Make sure you love what you you sell, and make sure your customers know about that. Make your enthusiasm shine through.
- Provide Great Customer Service. When people get good customer service from a business once, they keep coming back to shop at that business again and again.
Keep your customers - provide exceptional customer services to keep the customers coming back.
- Market to your Target Audience. Do you know who your target audience is? When you get targeted customers to your web site, you will convert more visitors into buyers, make more sales and make more money.
There are step-by-step directions in applying all of these techniques to your business in my Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course. Get the course before your competition does, and get ahead!

I have taught quite a few coaches how to get more clients online. The first step for getting more coaching clients is defining your niche, or your target market.
Once you know who your target market is, you have three goals:
- Driving your target market to your web site
- Getting your target market to subscribe to your newsletter
- Keeping in touch and building relationships with your target market using your newsletter. This step will help you turn your newsletter subscribers into clients.
#2 is straightforward - you need to have a prominent newsletter subscribe box on your web site, and encourage your web site visitors to subscribe to your newsletter. The best way to do that is by offering something at no charge (a report, e-book or e-course) as a bonus to subscribers.
#3 can be accomplished by publishing useful, interesting newsletters on a regular basis.
This leaves us with #1, driving your target market to your web site. How can you accomplish that?
Here are a few different ways to do that:
- Online Networking. Network in groups that your target market participates in and mention your newsletter web address in your signature.
- Search Engine Optimization (or SEO). SEO is the process of modifying web page content and meta-information to improve the search engine ranking of the page. Successful search engine optimization will greatly increase the number of visitors that come to your web site since over 70% of people who are looking for products and services use search engines to locate them. Make sure that your web site is optimized for
search engines, so that your target market can find it.
- Business Blogging. Start a blog for your business and update it on a regular basis. A business blog is an excellent tool to toot your own horn, and let your target market know about your business. My business blog drives
newsletter subscribers and clients to my web site every single day.
