How To Use Your List To Get Clients

Monday, June 30th, 2008

After reading my my blog posts on list building, many coaches have asked me what comes next. Once you get some people on your list, how do you leverage your list to get clients, make money and improve your business?

Just like with using any other marketing technique, in order to get the best results from your newsletter, you need to create a plan to get clients, make money and get results with your newsletter list.

Here are some things to think about and include into your plan:

- You Need To Bring In More Subscribers Every Single Day. Your target customers subscribe to your list and they also unsubscribe. Your goal for your newsletter list is to have as many people as possible see your message and learn about your business. Therefore the more people you can attract to your list, the better.

- Publish Your Newsletter On A Regular Basis. Your subscribers will not do business with you and will not buy from you unless they hear from you. The only way they will know about your expertise and about what you have to offer is by reading your newsletter issues.

Research shows that people need to hear from you on average 7 times (sometimes many more!) to buy something from you.

If you want results from your newsletter, such as more clients and more money, you need to publish! Publish your newsletter on a regular basis with useful information that your subscribers want to know about AND promo’s of your own products and services. A win-win for everyone.

- Create Products In Different Price Ranges. While lots of people are interested in coaching, the vast majority of them will never become your one-on-one coaching clients.

Some can’t afford one-on-one services, others may be able to afford them, but are not at the stage where they can justify the money they are going to spend.

But many more people would be willing to pay for group coaching, ebook, audio and other products because they cost much less than one-on-one service packages.

Create your own products and offer them to your list - that way you are using your list to build passive income streams for your business.

In my Grow Your List Home Study Course I discuss how to use your list to get clients, make money and create passive income streams. Check it out at http://www.avocadoconsulting.com/rlinks/znews

How To Create New Income Streams In Under 10 Minutes

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

A few weeks ago I wrote an article on how to stay in business and get clients during an economic downturn. One of the recommendations I made in that article was to create products, such as e-books, classes, audio, seminars and more that you can offer for sale to those who don’t want to spend the money on your services.

Your products cost less than your services, so when your potential customers are not willing to spend money on your services during the downturn, you can offer them your products. This way, both of you win! Your potential customers will still get help that they need and you can still make money with your knowledge.

The products will also help you create multiple streams of income for your business, so that you do not have to rely just on your services to bring in revenue.

After that article came out, I have been getting many e-mails from readers. Quite a few of you asked
me what to do if you are not ready to create products yet, but you do want to create multiple streams of income in your business.

The answer is to use someone else’s products through an affiliate program.

So how do you pick affiliate programs to join? Here are some tips:

- Pick an affiliate program with many different products that will be of interest to your target market.

- It is even better if you already used a few of those products, because that way you will be able to recommend them.

- Join that program, learn a bit about the products, and start promoting them.

Need an affiliate program to join? I would love for you to join my affiliate program and use my popular products to create passive income streams for your business. You can sign up for my affiliate program absolutely FREE and for every sale that you refer you will earn 40% commissions. Register for the affiliate program, FREE, at

And when you register for the affiliate program you will also receive an invitation to a no charge training session I am doing for my affiliates on May 6th. During this session you will discover the step-by-step process to use my products to create many passive income streams for your business. I will teach you about which products to promote and how to promote them, so that you can save time and not have to learn everything on your own.

How Should You Price Your Ebook?

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Many people have asked me how to price their ebooks. Should you price them high? Should you price them low? Should you price them somewhere in the middle?

I have seen ebooks priced as low as $7 and as high as $297. It is all about three factors - how much value your ebook offers, how well you can sell it (your sales copy + marketing) and how many people you can reach with your marketing.

Pricing is never exact and it is all you, your expertise, your market and your marketing abilities. Sometimes I advise my clients to have an introductory ebook offer and then raise prices afterwards. Sometimes you want to price it higher as soon as you release it and keep marketing at that price.

If you under price your product, your potential customers will be suspicious since you are offering a deal that seems too good to be true. If you overprice your product, you will not get many sales.

There are many factors that go into pricing of your product:

- The purpose of the ebook and the value of the ebook

- The topic of the ebook - is it very specialized or very general?

- Market and competition research. How do you distinguish yourself from others? Do you have a unique twist on the concept that makes the ebook/ideas/methodology uniquely yours?

Three Steps To Selling Ebooks

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Many coaches, consultants and other service business owners have asked me how to sell more copies of their e-books

Just like with any product, in order to sell your ebooks, you need to bring a stream of interested people to your sales page.

In order to sell your ebook you will need:

- An effective sales letter that can convert your target market into buyers. It is very important to have a good sales letter for an information product. Even if you can get good traffic to your web site you will not be able to convert traffic into sales without a good sales letter.

- A good price/value offer that your sales letter presents to your web site visitors. Can you convince them that they need your product and not someone else’s?

- An effective marketing strategy that brings targeted traffic to your ebook page, every single day.

There are many different marketing techniques you can use to do that. Your own newsletter, article marketing, blogging, search engine optimization and more.

In the Make Thousands Of Dollars With E-books Home Study Guide I discuss how to sell many copies of your ebook. You can see it at http://www.avocadoconsulting.com/rlinks/zebookt

How To Promote A Workshop

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

If you are a coach, chances are you have been thinking about teaching a workshop. However, what stops many coaches from actually offering a workshop is not being able to get any participants. How can you get enough participants for your coaching workshops?

Truth is, the marketing part is the most important and hardest part of putting together a workshop. You need to have a marketing plan and start planning for marketing early on.

No one will be as effective as you are at promoting your workshop. This is because you have the unique knowledge of your market, their issues and the benefits that your workshop will bring them.

In order to market your workshop successfully you will need:

- Make Sure That Your Target Market Needs And Wants Your Workshop. In order to successfully sell your workshop you need to be sure that the people you are selling it to (your target market) need, want and can afford it.

If they have no need for what you have to offer, you will not be able to sell the workshop.

- Be Able To Reach Your Target Market. In order to sell your workshop you need to be able to reach the people who want to buy it, your target market.

You need to have a list of your target market that you can contact. If you haven’t started building your list, get started now. This is a single most useful thing you can do for your coaching business.

- Create Effective Sales Copy. When you bring your target market to your web site to sign up for the workshop, you still need to convince them to register.

This is why you need to write good, benefits-oriented web copy about your workshop. The copy needs to convince your target market to register for the workshop by showing them all the benefits they will receive when they attend the workshop.

No Coaching Clients In December?

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

December is an interesting month for many coaches, consultants, virtual assistants, professionals organizers and other self-employed solopreneurs. This is because in December people have to spend a lot of money on gifts, so they are budgeting and looking for ways to decrease their spendings on other things. When they do this, they usually cancel the professional services they pay for, such as coaching, professional organizing, services of virtual assistants and more.

As December is approaching, I have been hearing from many coaches whose clients are taking a break in December. Coaches report that 20-50% of their clients are taking a break, thus the coaches are getting 20-50% less revenue in December.

So what do you do if you have no clients and plenty of time in December? Spend the time on creating a teleseminar or teleseminar series that you can teach in January!

In January plenty of people are going to be looking for support with their lifes and careers. Create a teleseminar around the problems your potential clients will be experiencing in January, and you will be able to have a very profitable January.

What kind of teleseminars can you create? Here are a few examples:

- A financial coach can create a teleseminar on how to pay off the holiday debts faster

- A fitness coach can create a teleseminar on how to get rid of those extra pounds that people gained eating food during the holidays

- A life coach can create a teleseminar on how to finally reach your new year resolutions

Start working on creating your teleseminar now, so that you can announce it in January!

Discover how to create, teach and market extremely profitable teleseminars with my Make Thousands Of Dollars With Teleseminars Home Study Guide available at

What To Do If No One Comes To Your Teleseminars?

Monday, November 19th, 2007

On a regular basis I hear from coaches, consultants and other service professionals who tell me that they have huge issues filling up their teleseminars. After trying to teach their teleseminars a couple of times, they stop doing teleseminars altogether. Why offer them if no one is signing up for them? After speaking to many solopreneurs who reported having issues getting teleseminar sign-ups, I found out the 3 main reasons why they are not able to get the sign-ups. Here are the reasons along with information on how to correct them…

Hollywood Writers And New Media

Friday, November 9th, 2007

The Hollywood writers have been striking since Monday, November 5th. This action sent late night talk shows into re-runs immediately.

What is interesting is why the writers are striking. According to this article, writers are striking because they are looking for more profits from when their writing is used in new media. They want to earn money when their work is sold on DVDs, when their work is a part of online shows, etc.

As you can see, writers are paying attention to the Internet and new media and want to profit from it. And what they are looking for is a true passive income - they write their copy once, and they want to make money every time it is used or sold through the new media.

What about you? Are you creating passive income streams? Are you using the new media to profit? Here are some of my blog posts to help you create more products and profit from them online:

Promote Your Expertise By Teaching Teleseminars

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Have you ever heard the saying, “If you want to learn how to do something really well, teach it to others”? When you teach others, you usually gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the material that you teach.
Teaching a teleseminar in something you know is also a great way to demonstrate your expertise to your potential clients and to convince them to become your one-on-one clients. Teaching teleseminars is an extremely versatile marketing technique. This is because it is very easy to use teaching to promote your expertise both online and offline…
