Facebook Marketing: How To Get More Traffic From Facebook

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Are you spending a lot of time on Facebook without seeing any traffic coming to your web site? Have you heard that you can get clients for your business on Facebook, but are not sure how to do that? Then read this article for information on how to use Facebook marketing to get more traffic to your blog and your web site!

Facebook is a social networking web site. The key to using Facebook marketing for marketing your business is to understand how to connect with your perfect clients on Facebook. Facebook lets you connect with people in your target market, and, as a result, it lets you bring effective, targeted traffic to your web site every single day.

If you have been doing Facebook marketing for a while, but are not seeing any results for your business, it is time for a change. Here are the top four ways for attracting web site traffic and clients to your business:

1. Share Great Content.

The best way to get more traffic from Facebook (or any other social networking web site, for that matter), is by providing great content first. When you share tips, ideas and other great content with your connections, they will check out your page and click on your links.

If you are only asking your connections to buy from you, without providing any content first, it will be hard to get traffic from Facebook.

2. Fill Out Your Links On Your Personal Page.

Start from the very beginning – did you fill out your Info Tab and included your links? If you didn’t include your link, than no one will be able to go to your web site and you will not get any traffic.

But it is also important to fill out your bio. Here is why. When people connect with you on Facebook, they want to know who they are connecting with. If you don’t have any information about yourself, they will move on to the next profile, without connecting you and without clicking on your links. If you want more traffic from Facebook, make sure to fill out your profile.

3. Share Your Blog Posts.

Use an application to share your blog posts on Facebook. That way, your Facebook connections will see information about your new blog posts, and visit your blog to read them.

4. Create A Fan Page.

Want to create effective presence for your business on Facebook? Than you need to create a Fan Page.

A Fan page is a great way to share information, tips and promote your expertise. And, when you use your Fan page to share tips and information, your fans will also click on the links that you are sharing and check out your web site.

Top Three Strategies To Grow Your List

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

A lot of people have been asking me how they can start growing their lists TODAY – what are the actions that they can take today to start growing their lists immediately.

Here are my top three strategies to help you invite more people to your list. Start using them today and you will see more people joining your list:

Strategy #1: Article Marketing

I love using article marketing for list building. It is effective, it works great and you can use it to invite exactly people you want to invite to your list! How do you do that? By writing articles on topics that are of interest to people that you want to invite to your list.

What is article marketing? Article marketing is the process of writing articles that people in your target market are interested in reading and then submitting them to article directories to be published. It is extremely important to write articles that are of interest to your target market, because that is another way to qualify your subscribers. When the topic of your article is of interest to people in your target market, people in your target market will read your articles and find out more about your newsletter.

When you submit your article to directories, your article will also include a Resource Box. Your Resource Box is a one-paragraph description of you and your business and a link back to your web site. Use the Resource Box to invite your article readers to get your free gift and join your list!

Strategy #2: Social Networking

Social networking web sites, such as Facebook and Twitter are great for inviting people in your target market to join your list.

In order to invite more people from social networking web sites to join your list, first you need to have an effective profile page. If you do not have any information about your newsletter in your profile, how are people going to even know that you have a newsletter?

Next, you need to get involved, become visible and start building relationships with people you meet on those social networking web sites. If you are invisible on social networking web sites, people will not be able to sign up for your newsletter. When you are visible, you will get many more subscribers.

And then, make sure to share about your free gift using your social networking updates. Your profile is not the only place to let people know about your free gift. People should also hear about your free gift from your status updates on Facebook and your tweets on Twitter.

Strategy #3: Blogging

Blogging is another great technique to use to invite more people to your list. There are a ton of things you can do with your blog to bring more subscribers to your list.

First, your blog itself should contain information about your newsletter and your free gift. If you don’t tell your blog readers about your newsletter, how do you expect them to ever subscribe? Make sure that your blog has at least some information about your newsletter.

Your blog posts themselves are also very important for inviting people to your list. Remember – you will write your blog post once and it will be seen by people and search engines for a very long time. This means that if you write an interesting blog post and it gets indexed by search engines, you will be able to gain blog visitors and newsletter subscribers from the same blog post for a long period of time.

Use search engine optimization each time you write a blog post. Research keywords and find effective ones to use in your post. Then use the keywords in your blog posts, so that your blog posts can be indexed in search engines for the relevant topics and you can get traffic. Each time someone finds your blog post in search engines, they will be able to read your post and find out about your free gift and your newsletter!

This is just one blog post. Optimize each blog post that you write and you will start getting more traffic from search engines to your blog.

The Best Way To Get Clients With Social Networking

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Here are two e-mails that I have received recently from coaches about effective social networking:

#1:

“Biana, for the last six months I have been telling people I meet on social networking web sites about my coaching services. No one has ever asked me a question about my services, and I haven’t gotten a single client from social networking web sites. What should I do?”

#2:

“Biana, I have started using Twitter, but have been shy about promoting myself yet. I have been chatting with people and slowly building up my list of followers. I feel that now I should start letting people know about my coaching services – what is the best way to do that?”

As you can see from these e-mails, neither approach is working. Just telling people you meet on social networking web sites about your services does not work. They don’t know you well enough yet to buy your services.

Not telling people about your products and services isn’t going to work either. If they don’t know anything about what you are offering, how will they be able to buy from you?

What is the best way for these coaches to promote their services on social networking web sites? It might be surprising to hear, but the most effective way to sell your products and services online is not selling at all.

Building the groundwork by generating leads for your business is the most effective way to sell your products and services. Your leads are people who are in your target market; people who want, need and can afford what you have to offer. Your goal is to get these leads on your list by offering them something valuable. Once you have them on your list, you can spend time on building a relationship with them and sharing information about your products and services with them.

When you bring leads into your business on a regular basis and are able to communicate with them, great things happen. You get more customers and more clients every time you send out an email how great is that?

If you are not getting clients from your social networking efforts, revise your social networking strategy. Instead of trying to sell your services, create a strategy to get more leads. It is much easier to turn your social networking contacts into leads and you will get much better results.

Mistakes You Are Making When Building Your List With Social Networking

What’s Your Favorite Pizza Topping?

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

What’s your favorite pizza topping? This is a question that I had asked a few weeks ago on Twitter and got a ton of responses. The answers ranged from pepperoni to cheese only to Hawaiian (ham and pineapple).

You may be wondering why I am twittering about pizza toppings instead of social networking and online marketing. Food is another subject I am very interested in and something I enjoy talking and sharing about.

When you share your other, non-business interests on social networks, people get to know you on another level and feel more connected with you. When people feel like they know you better and are more connected with you, they are more likely to do business with you.

Mistakes You Are Making When Building Your List With Social Networking

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Are you using social networking web sites to build your list? If you have been using social networking web sites for a while, but your list isn’t growing as fast as you would like it to, it is time to reassess. Take a look at your strategy for building your list with social networking and see whether you are making one of these five mistakes. Each mistake can cost you thousands of new newsletter subscribers and thousands of dollars in lost profits.

Here are the mistakes and how to correct them:

Mistake #1: Not Setting Any Goals For Your Social Networking

If you do not have any goals, how are you going to reach them?

How to correct it: Write out your goals for building your list with your social networking presence. When you put your goals in writing, you are much more likely to achieve them!

Mistake #2: Not Connecting With The Right People On Social Networking Web Sites

How to correct it: The people who you want to get on your list are people in your target market. When you are creating connections on social networking web sites, make sure to connect with people in your target market.

Mistake #3: Not Asking Your Network To Take The Next Step With You

How to correct it: Connecting with your target market is just the first step. Next, you need to persuade your connections to take the next step with you, which is getting on your list.

The best way to do that is to offer your network something at no charge – a report, an e-course, a teleseminar, and audio recording – and ask for their e-mail address in exchange.

Mistake #4: An Ineffective Squeeze Page

How to correct it: If you are asking your network to take the next step with you, but they are not taking your up on your offer, here is why. The page with your no charge offer, also called your squeeze page, is not effective.

This whole web page has one purpose and one purpose only – to convert the person who comes to it into your newsletter subscriber. Make sure that each element of that page is helping you do just that.

Mistake #5: Having Just One Offer For Converting People Into Newsletter Subscribers

How to correct it: Many business owners on social networking web sites have just one offer that converts their connections into newsletter subscribers. But one offer will not work for everyone, because not every person in your target market is interested in it.

Instead of just one offer, create a few different ones. Offer a no charge teleseminar once in while; create a few different reports of audio that you give away, etc. A few different offers will help you convert many more social networking connections into newsletter subscribers.

Are You Doing Busy Work Or Taking Powerful Action?

Monday, April 27th, 2009

For a while I have been interested in one question. Why do some business owners who get started in business at roughly the same time and do roughly the same things get very different results? Some become very successful and have clients beating down their door, while others are not happy with the way their business is going 3, 4 or even 5 years later.

Lately I have been watching how coaches are using social networking web sites and have noticed the same phenomenon. Some coaches have created a following and attracted crowds of fans and prospects almost immediately, while others haven’t received much of anything, even though all of these coaches are spending similar amounts of time on social networking web sites.

The coaches who have created a following and attracted many fans and prospects are taking powerful action that is a part of their bigger social networking plan. Others are just taking random actions: posting updates that don’t mean a lot, not interacting with others a lot, and not promoting their expertise.

Here is how the successful coaches have achieved their social networking goals in a short period of time and how you can do the same:

Have Goals. Before starting to use social networking to promote their business, do your research. Find out how to use social networking and set social networking goals for your business. This way you are not just using social networking web sites randomly. You are using them to achieve your business goals.

Know Whom You Want To Network With. Know the people you want to meet on social networking web sites, so that you can look for them and network with them specifically instead of connecting with people randomly. Doing this alone can dramatically cut down on time you spend on social networking, while still helping you achieve all of your goals.

Be Consistent Throughout Different Social Networking Web Sites. If you use more than one social networking web site, have a consistent message, brand and image throughout all of them. You will meet many of the same people on different social networking web sites, so you don’t want to confuse them about what you do.

Have A Social Networking Plan. If you want to get clients, create raving fans and be seen as an expert on social networking web sites, you must take consistent, powerful action. The easiest way to do that is to create a plan that outlines the actions you need to take, step-by-step.

As you can see, the difference between doing busy work and taking powerful action is huge. If you continue doing busy work, you will find yourself in the same place day after day, year after year. Start taking powerful action today by creating your social networking plan and you will be able to get
more clients and create an army of fans in no time! To learn how to create a social networking plan for your business, get the Make Thousands Of Dollars With Social Networking Home Study Guide

Should You Dump Your Newsletter?

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

With social networking becoming more and more popular, many of my clients are asking me whether they should ditch their newsletter and use social networking web sites instead. Here is an email I have received from a client (she is a life coach) recently:

“Biana, I have been using all of the social networking techniques we’ve been discussing recently, and I am seeing great results! I recently signed on two clients, whom I’ve met through Twitter.

Since I am getting such great results with social networking, I am wondering whether I need to continue my newsletter? Should I stop sending out my newsletter and concentrate on using social networking web sites to connect with my target market?”

This sounds great, doesn’t it? You can stop sending out your newsletter, and you can spend the extra time that you now have on getting more done on social networking web sites.

While it certainly sounds good, you shouldn’t do that. You should not get rid of your newsletter and spend the time that you gain from not publishing it on social networking web sites. Not sending out your newsletter is a bad business decision.

Social networking web sites and your newsletter both play very important, but different roles in your marketing plan. Your participation in social networking web sites helps you let your target market know about you and your business. It also helps you invite your target market to join your newsletter.

Your newsletter is the next stage of your marketing plan. It helps you build relationships with your subscribers and invite them to take the next step with you: buy a product, attend a teleseminar, etc.

As you can see, social networking and newsletters are two different pieces of your Online Marketing Plan. Social networking helps you introduce yourself to prospects in your target market. Your newsletter helps you continue building relationships with them and let them know about your offerings. If you do not have a newsletter, you have a huge piece missing in your Online Marketing Plan, which helps you turn people you meet on social networking web sites into clients and customers.

Make sure to include both social networking and newsletters in your marketing plan. Doing this will help you see results from your marketing much faster. Learn how to create your social networking plan with the Ultimate Social Networking

Why Social Networking Isn’t Working For You

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Lately, I have been hearing from many coaches and other business owners, telling me that social networking just isn’t working for them.

Here is a typical email I have been receiving:

“Biana, social networking just isn’t working for me. I have been spending an hour or two on Twitter and Facebook almost every day. I have many friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter; many of them are in my target market. But I have nothing to show for all these efforts. I haven’t gotten a single client from all these social networking web sites. Maybe social networking doesn’t work for life coaches? What other marketing strategies would you recommend for life coaches?”

If you are ready to throw in the towel and stop using social networking because it just isn’t working for you, listen up! Social media is a perfect technique for generating leads for any industry, and it can work great for coaches and other service professionals. I have observed thousands of coaches and service professionals networking using social networking web sites, and I have found that the ones who tell me that social networking isn’t working for them usually have incomplete social networking strategies.

Here are the two missing pieces in their social networking strategies:

Understanding Which Offers Will Get The Best Results On Social Networking Web Sites

Every day I see coaches on social networking sites trying to get service clients. They offer their services, and usually get no takers.

The reason for this is that people who you meet on social networks don’t know you well (yet!). So if you just met someone and start offering them your most expensive offering, your services, they will not be interested because they don’t know you yet.

Offer something smaller. Your no charge gift or a no charge teleseminar that offers value and gets people on your list. That way you will be able to build relationships with them and offer your services to them after they have gotten to know you. Doing this will get you many more service clients than just promoting your services on social networking web sites.

Not Directing Your Social Networking Traffic Correctly

The traffic that you receive from social networking web sites is very valuable. This is because the people coming from social networking web sites to your web site already met you and they are checking out your web site to learn more about you. These are warm leads and you should do as much as you can to help them take the next step with you and subscribe to your newsletter.

I see many professionals directing their social networking traffic incorrectly. They send this traffic to pages on their web sites that contain many different links and options. As a result, the people who come to their web sites from social networking get confused and leave without taking any action. And I get the e-mails like the one I cited above from professionals who receive traffic from their social networking efforts, but are not able to do anything with that traffic.

The solution here is to direct your social networking traffic to a squeeze page. Your squeeze page has one goal – to convert your traffic into newsletter subscribers. When you do this, you will get many more newsletter subscribers and clients from your social networking efforts.

Get started now – review your social networking strategy and adjust it as we have discussed above.
