Facebook Fan Pages: How To Promote Your Information Products On Facebook Fan Pages

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

Do you want to promote your information products on your Facebook Fan Page? Here are three ideas for how to do that:

Create a free gift, that in turn, promotes your information product. For example, create a teleseminar that shares useful information, and promotes a longer Teleseminar Series or coaching program. Or, create a special report, that shares useful information and promotes your Home Study Guide as well.

Then, offer this free teleseminar or free special report to members of your Facebook Fan Page.

Share information about your information product on your blog, and share your blog post on your Facebook Fan Page. Create a useful blog post, and mention your information product in it as well.

Then, share the blog post on your Facebook Fan Page. That way, your fans will read your blog post and learn about your information product.

Create A Special Tab Of Your Facebook Fan Page To Promote Your Information Products. Create a special tab on your Facebook Page using iframes, and use this tab to share about your information product.

Facebook Fan Pages: You Can Now See Which Pages Like Yours

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Ever since we started using Facebook as a Fan Page, Fan Pages could “Like” other Fan Pages.

And since people know that other Fan Pages like your pages, people wanted to know which pages liked their Facebook Fan Page. But until now it was only possible to see a list of people who “Like” the page, but not a list of Fan Pages that “Like” the page.

It all changed, and now you can see a list of Facebook Fan Pages that like your Fan Page! To see the list of Facebook Fan Pages that like your Fan Page, go to your Fan Page and click on the link “people like it” which is located right under the number of your fans. Then click on the button on the top of the page that says “People” and change it to “Pages” instead. Now you will see the pages that like your Facebook Fan Page!

Something that is gone, though, is how the fans are ordered in your list. In the past, you could see the fans in the order that they have joined your page. This is not available anymore. It would also be nice to be able to sort the fans (and Fan Pages) by when they joined the page, and by the alphabet. It would also be great to be able to search the fan list and the Fan Pages list.

What do you think – do you like to be able to see which Fan Pages “Like” your Fan Page?

Facebook Fan Pages: Why You Need Tabs On Your Facebook Page

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Are you using tabs on your Facebook Fan Page? These tabs are very powerful, because you can use them to provide your own content on your Facebook Fan Page. Tabs are also instrumental in getting more fans for your page, because when you have a special default tab that encourages people who are visiting your Fan Page to become your fans, more people become your fans.

Here is ho to use the Facebook Fan Page tabs to get results:

1. Get More Fans For Your Facebook Fan Pages

Want more fans on your Facebook Page? Create a tab that will be shown to people who are visiting your Fan Page, but are not your fans. When you have a tab that invites people to become your fans, instead of just sending everyone to the Wall of your Page, more people become your fans.

2. Get More Newsletter Subscribers

This one is huge! Since you have no control over social networking web sites you are using, you want to invite your fans to join your list. That way you will be able to communicate with them outside of social networking web sites.

To get more newsletter subscribers on Facebook, you need to invite your fans to join your list. You can create a tab that invites your fans to subscribe to your newsletter.

3. Help More Of Your Fans

You have probably written many blog posts and articles that your fans will benefit from reading. Create a tab that shares your select articles and blog posts with your fans.

4. Get More Traffic To Your Web Site

Do you need more web site traffic? Want to get more web site traffic from your Facebook Fan Page? Share links to your articles, blog posts and other web pages in your tabs, and you will get more web site traffic!

5. Promote Your Products

Here is another idea for using your Facebook Fan Page tabs – share information about your products! Your fans are people in your target market, so sharing information about your products in one of your tabs will help you inform more people in your target market about your products!

Facebook Fan Pages: iFrame Tabs

Monday, March 7th, 2011

If you are using FBML for creating tabs on your Facebook Fan Page, you should know that you will not be able to add new FBML tabs starting on March 10th.

However, you will be able to use iFrames to create your new tabs going forward. When you use iFrames, the code for your tab is hosting somewhere else, for example, on your web host. And then you use iFrames to display that code in your Facebook Fan Page tab.

Here is an example of an iFrame tab that I created on my Facebook Page: click here to see the iFrame tab

Facebook Fan Pages: Chronological Order Is Back

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

As I wrote a few days ago, after the update, updates on Facebook Fan Pages weren’t arranged in chronological order anymore.

Well, that has changed! You can now choose how to view updates on Facebook Fan Pages. You can view them in Most Recent order (chronological), or you can view Top Posts (posts are arranged based on how popular they are).

You have to choose how you want to view the posts on each Facebook Fan Page, and admins don’t have the option to set the default order for their Fan Page.

Here is what it looks like – choose better Most Recent and Top Posts:

Facebook Fan Page Changes – Chronological Order

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Here is the first part of this post: How To Use Facebook As Your Facebook Fan Page. That post discusses how to switch to using Facebook as your Fan Page.

Another big change for Facebook Fan Pages is that the posts on Facebook Fan Pages are no longer displayed in chronological order. Looks like they are displayed based on how popular they are, how many comments/likes they have.

As the admin, you can still see your Facebook Fan Page posts in chronological order. Here is how: click on Admin View in the left hand side menu, and you will be able to see your Fan Page posts arranged chronologically. Your fans cannot see it that way, though.

Update: Chronological Order is back to the Fan Pages

How To Use Facebook As Your Facebook Fan Page

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, you can now post as your Facebook Page on other Pages.

This means that you can switch to posting on Facebook as your Fan Page, Now you can comment on other pages as your page, and not as yourself. This serves two purposes:

1. Posting as your Facebook Fan Page helps you separate your business from your personal profile, since now you can communicate with your business connections as your Fan Page.

2. Posting as your Facebook Fan Page helps you promote your Facebook Fan Page more, because now you can comment on other pages as your page. Post a good, valuable comment and people will come and check out your Fan Page. But don’t just comment on other pages for the sake of commenting – make sure to add value when you post!

To switch to post as your Facebook Fan Page, click on “Account” on the top of the page and choose “Use Facebook As Page”. If you have more than one Facebook Page, choose the page you want to post as, and you will be able to start posting as that page.

Once you switch to posting as a page, you will see statistics for your Fan Page on top of the page. They will look like this:

The first number is the number of fans that joined your Fan Page since you looked at the stats. The second number is the number of comments, posts, Likes for posts, etc. Click on this number for the actual list of comments, posts and Likes on your Fan Page. These are handy statistics that help you keep track of the activity on your Facebook Fan Page.

Here is another thing that you can do while you are logged in as your Facebook Fan Page – you can “Like” other Facebook Fan Pages as a page, and once you like them, you can post on them as well. Once you like a page, you will be able to “Like” posts on it, post on it and respond to other posts. When you “Like” other pages and post on them, you will be posting under the name of your Facebook Fan Page.

Once you “Like” a few other Facebook Fan Pages as your page, you will have a News Feed consisting of posts from these pages. Just go to Facebook.com and take a look at the feed. It looks just like your regular News feed, with posts from the Facebook Pages that you Liked.

Do Facebook Fan Pages Bring Results?

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

A lot of people ask: Why do you need Facebook Fan Pages? Do Facebook Fan Pages bring results? How can you get more traffic to your coaching web site from Facebook Fan Pages?

Here are three tips to help you get more results from Facebook Fan Pages:

1. Decide On The Results That You Are Looking For.

A lot of times business owners want results, but they don’t know what they mean by results. Ask yourself this question – what kind of results are you looking to get from your Facebook Fan Page? The results you are looking for can be more web site traffic, more leads, more clients, etc. But you must know exactly what results you are looking for.

Next, you need a way to track your results. How do you know that you are getting the results that you are looking? You do that by tracking where your web site traffic is coming from and looking at how much traffic you are getting from your Facebook Fan Page.

2. Optimize Your Facebook Fan Page.

Now that you know what results you are looking for from your Facebook Fan Page it is time to optimize your page.

There are many things you can do to optimize your page:

Create a Landing Tab On Your Fan Page A landing tab is much better at converting your Fan page visitors into actual fans. And the more fans you have, the more web site traffic and leads you can get from your Fan Page.

Share your blog posts on your Fan Page. Your fan page members can learn more about your business and your offerings from your blog posts. So share your blog posts on your Fan Page and you will get more traffic and newsletter subscribers.

Share information about your business on your Fan Page.

3. Attract More People To Your Facebook Fan Page.

The more fans you have, the better results you are going to get. So, how you attract more people to your page? Invite your Facebook friends to join your page from time to time. Invite your Twitter connections from time to time.

Post on your Facebook Page on a regular basis – when you post and your fans respond to you, your page gets more visibility on Facebook, and more fans as a result.
