Multiple Income Streams For Life Coaches, Career Coaches, Business Coaches

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Many life coaches, career coaches and business coaches have told me that they are not sure how to create multiple streams of income for their coaching businesses.

The easiest way to create multiple income streams are creating products that you can market to YOUR CURRENT TARGET MARKET. It is the easiest thing to do, because if you create products for the same target market, you can use your existing marketing resources (your web site, your newsletter, your blog, etc) to promote them. When
you work constantly with the same target market, you become known as an expert, and will get more sales as a result.

So, what kind of products can you create for your income streams? There are many – e-books, reports, e-courses, audio recordings, teleseminars just to name a few. The
beauty of these income streams that they are passive — you create them once, post them on your web site and then your customers can buy them from you.

When you sell your products, you don’t have to work as hard with your one-on-one clients, because you have additional revenue from your products. My products have allowed me to work with just a few select clients on one-on-one basis, take many vacations, enjoy shorter summer hours, and spend a lot of time with family and friends.

I will be teaching how to create your own products during the How To Profit From Information Products Teleseminar Series. You will learn how to create your own e-books, reports and teleseminars. You will also learn how to market them online effectively in order to get clients and increase your revenues.

How To Create Your First Product

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Many coaches, consultants and other solopreneuers and service professionals ask me how to create their very first product.

Knowing what issues your target market experiences is a great place to start. Is each issue big enough to create a product around it? Can you combine a few issues into a product?

Or, start with a popular service of yours and see if you can create an e-book to use the service for do-it-yourselfers. The reason I recommend this is because you will run across potential clients who need this service, but might not be able to afford it. This service could be a good candidate for turning into an e-book.

For example, a copywriter who ghostwrites e-books for business owners can create a report on how to write an e-book, based on this service.

For example, a service that I provide is one-on-one online business coaching. I took the information that I teach to my one-on-one clients and created my extremely popular Complete Step By Step Online Marketing Course, turning my service into a step-by-step e-book to help business owners market better online.

Are there any services you can turn into products? Do you offer a service that some of your clients can’t afford (but they will be able to afford the do-it-yourself manual)?

I will be talking about product creation in-depth
during the How To Profit From Information Products Teleseminar Series.

How To Enable Your Clients To Download Your Ebooks

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Many coaches and solopreneurs sell e-books, but they deliver each e-book to their customers personally. I recommend using an automated system to enable your customers to download their ebooks on their own. This will help you provide better service to your customers – they will have immediate access to the ebooks, and it will help you save your time and use your time on marketing or other business activities.

Here is how to enable your users to download your ebooks (as well as audio recordings, special reports and other products):

– Through a shopping cart, such as 1 shopping cart or OS commerce.

– Through PayPal and Payloadz.

– By listing your ebook with Clickbank.

In the Complete Step By Step Information Products Guide I discuss the step-by-step process for creating your own ebooks and selling them online.

How To Network Online Effectively

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

How can a coach network online effectively?

I have been networking online for a very long time. To start, explore online networking groups. There are different online networking web sites and groups. Some are networking mailing lists, where you post messages and receive replies from others by e-mail.

Others have messages boards, such as Ryze, Xing, MarketingSalad.com, where you post your messages on a network message board.

Others are like LinkedIn – they are more of a Rolodex for your business, where you can connect with people you know, and then connect with people your connections know, etc.
Different networking groups require different online networking strategies and approaches. I recommend that you explore different online networking organizations and see which ones work best for you. Once you find the ones where you are comfortable networking, join in and start participating on a regular basis. Get to know other members and have them get to know you.

At MarketingSalad.com I discuss in-depth how to use different online networking web sites and mailing lists. Got questions about online networking? Join MarketingSalad.com and post your questions!

How To Promote Your Ecourses

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Have you written an ecourse to get more newsletter subscribers? Now is the time to promote it. Here is how:

The best way to promote your e-course is to market it where your target market is. This is what I have done with my free offering, Top 5 Ways To Increase Online Sales, and it has brought me great results.

Here are online marketing ideas to help you get started:

Online networking. Find groups where your target market networks online and join them. There are many places to find such groups – find groups on Yahoo groups, use search engines to locate them, etc.

Once you become a member, network in these groups and provide useful tips, so that other members can get to know you. Don’t forget to promote your e-course in your signature.

Article marketing. Write articles that are of benefit to your target market, and submit them to article directories and niche web sites that your target market reads. Don’t forget to include a link to your e-course in the Resource Box that you submit with the article.

In addition to being posted in article directories and niche web sites, your articles will be re-printed in other people’s newsletters, on web sites and blogs, providing your e-course more exposure.

Search engine optimization. Create a well-written page on your web site to promote your e-course and optimize it for search engines. That way you can get your perfect customers, who are using the search engines, to come to your web site and sign-up.

I have written many articles on how to use online networking, article marketing and search engine optimization to promote a coaching business. Click here to read articles on how to use online networking, article marketing and search engine optimization to promote a coaching business.

And don’t forget to use this FREE Tutorial, How To Market Your Business, to learn how to get more online sales. You can use the same tips even if you promote a free product.

How To Get Best Results By Posting Articles Online

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Many people post articles online, but what should you do to ensure the best results for your business?

I find that I get best results when I have my articles submitted by hand. I recommend that you find popular web sites that post articles on the topics that you write, and have your articles posted there.

Spend some time on finding popular web sites to submit your articles to. On popular web sites, you will be able to have your target market read your articles. Another benefit for using article marketing is that other people will be able to re-print your articles on their blogs and web sites, thus providing you with additional exposure.

You can post the articles yourself, or have an assistant do that for you. For more information on using articles to market your business take a look at How To Get Subscribers And Clients With Article Marketing Home Study Guide.

Your Business And Your Commute

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

For a few weeks the temperatures here have been hovering in the single digits. Well, the good news is that they went up. By 30 degrees. But when that happens in the winter it usually means that snow’s coming, and this week was not an exception.

It snowed here for days, and there is lots of snow on the ground now. A few days ago I went out to run some errands. The roads were a mess, and everyone was driving at twenty miles an hour.

Because of all this, errands took me a long time — what would usually take less then an hour took over two. Plus, driving in the snow is really not fun.

This trip also reminded me of an experience I had back in the winter of 2002. We had several inches of snow one day and I had to go to work early the next day. The roads weren’t plowed yet, so I was driving at about 25 miles an hour, hoping that my car won’t get stuck in the snow. I still clearly remember that day, because it was another wake up
call. I was already working on my business then, but specifically on that day I was reminded once again how much I didn’t like commuting in extreme weather. I knew the only way out of that kind of commute was working for myself.

I also realized that day how important multiple income streams are, and that the only way for me to have a successful business is by generating several income streams. Thanks to my current multiple streams of income, I don’t have to commute in the snow during
the winter.

Do you want to get rid of your commute? Do you want to work shorter hours, while making more money? Join me for the How To Profit From Information Products Teleseminar Series to learn how to create multiple income
streams for your business.

Long Sales Cycle? Use Online Marketing To Get Clients!

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Got a long sales cycle for your products and services? You MUST use online marketing to get clients!

If your your sales cycle is long, I strongly recommend that you create your marketing plan and market your business at all times, whether you have projects or not. Since people who you introduce yourself to today might not hire you for a year or so, you need to constantly look for customers to promote your services to.

Figure out who your target customers are. These are the people who need, want and can afford for your service.

Go to where they are, both online and offline. Participate in networking events they participate in, join online networking groups that they frequent.

However, meeting them once might not get you hired; you will need to keep in touch with them on a regular basis to keep your name in front of them.

Get a web site to promote your business online. Make sure that it is optimized for search
engines and that you use the correct keywords to get both national and local traffic to your web site.

My Complete Step by Step Online Marketing Course shows you, step-by-step, how to use online marketing to get customers for your long sales cycle business.
