How Unpredictable Is Your Web Site Traffic?

Friday, March 30th, 2007

The weather here changed from a rainy spring to nice spring to summer and back to a cold spring in a matter of days. It changes really fast around here.

Web site traffic changes almost as fast as the weather. Your web site can get a lot of traffic one week and almost none the following week. These changes can greatly affect your sales and make your revenue stream unpredictable.

So how do you make web site traffic more predictable? Better yet, how do you get A LOT of traffic to your web site every single day?

I have posted a message about how to have a good traffic week every week at MarketingSalad.com. You can read it once you join us at https://www.MarketingSalad.com.

Are You Overwhelmed?

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

If you are overwhelmed, working with your one-on-one clients, you are not alone. I was just like that a few years ago. I had a lot of web design/consulting work, but all this work was overwhelming, and I had absolutely no time to take vacation, take time for myself or do anything else. In fact, sometimes I didn’t have the time to market my business.

After some time I was ready for a change, and I switched from the One-on-One Services business model to a Multiple Streams Of Income business model for my business.

I have created e-books, special reports, audio recordings, teleseminars and a membership web site. Now I have many income streams bringing in revenue every single day, so that I do not have to consult full time. I am able to take more time off and not be overwhelmed. And I have a lot of time allocated for my own marketing/promotion.

If you want to not be overwhelmed, and work less, while making more money, here is what I recommend. Start by sitting down and creating a plan – which products would you
like to create first? How will you go about it?
Start by teaching your own teleseminars. Teleseminars are seminars taught over the phone. When you teach seminars over the phone you don’t have to commute to/and from them and you won’t have to spend as much time on them.

There are many possibilities, but creating a plan will give you an idea of how you would
like to mover forward.

Tomorrow I am starting to teach How To Make Thousands Of Dollars With Information Products Teleseminar Series on creating and marketing your own e-books, reports and other products.

Solopreneur Web Sites That SELL

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Hi, everyoneI have designed/re-designed web sites for a while, before starting to work more in online marketing coaching/consulting. I find that it is extremely important that your web site designer understands online marketing and uses this knowledge when designing your web site OR that you understand it yourself and make sure that your designer follows online marketing principles when designing your web site.

There are fabulous web and graphics designers out there, who can do a wonderful job creating a great looking web site. Unfortunately, they do not know much about online marketing, so they do not do anything for search engine optimization, don’t optimize the web site to get the most sign ups/sales, etc.

And there many of these great looking web sites online, but they do not bring in much in terms of what is really important to the web site owner – newsletter sign-ups, sales, etc.

One of the things that I teach my clients is how to create a web site that will actually sell what you have to offer. After following my advice one of my clients tripled her newsletter sign-ups without increasing her web site traffic – sometimes simple web site changes can make a huge difference in the results you are getting.

Every time a client asks me how to work with their web designer, here is what I tell them:

“Your web site is not a showcase of the great design/programming skills of your web designer. It is a place to promote your expertise AND a tool to generate leads and clients for your business. Make sure that you address this with your designer, otherwise you will spend your money on creating a great looking web site that does not sell.”

Need More Online Visibility For Your Business?

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Start a networking group!

Creating your own networking group helps you raise your profile and increase your visibility. Years ago I started a group, and, being the organizer, has helped me increase my visibility among members.

Now I start and manage online networking groups, and you can do that too. You can create your own online networking group to meet other people, to demonstrate your expertise and to promote your business.

There are a few different ways to do that – you can start a message board on a social networking web site. Doing this will help you tap into the web site’s existing traffic.

Of, you can start your own e-mail group and message board, but than you have to promote it on your own.

Join the MarketingSalad.com Online Networking Group that I run to experience online networking. Our events take place every few months.

Need More Newsletter Subscribers?

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

I am sure that you have heard that if you have a large newsletter list, you can make a lot of money.

However, it is hard to build a large newsletter list. It takes a lot of time and effort to find qualified subscribers and convince them to subscribe to your list.

There are many different ways to get more subscribers, and recently I have been testing a brand new technique to gain more subscribers. The technique is creating a lead generation web site – a web site of interest to your target market.

I am happy to report that I have been getting great results using this technique.

This week at MarketingSalad.com I am sharing the information about how I have created my lead generation web site. I am also sharing with members 5 unique ways to create different lead generation web sites – all of them are designed to get you more subscribers.

Need A New Freebie For Your Newsletter?

Friday, March 9th, 2007

When my clients need to increase the number of newsletter subscribers and get more exposure for their business, I recommend giving out something for free. This can be a special report, audio recording or an ebook, that their clients REALLY want.

But what do you do if your freebie doesn’t work – doesn’t bring in more newsletter subscribers and exposure? Do you create a new one? Do you keep promoting the old one?
Sometimes you need to give it more time. Before investing your time into creating a new giveaway, investigate what’s wrong with the old one. Is it its topic? Many times when my clients tell me that their freebie doesn’t work, it is usually their marketing. They haven’t
spent enough time on marketing their offering.

If you haven’t spent enough time promoting your free gift, spend more time marketing and promoting it.

Look for a topic that really interests your target market. Poll your target market to see what kind of issues your target marketing is experiencing. Then create an offering that helps your target market solve those issues.
