What To Do With Your Web Site Traffic

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Are you trying to bring more web site traffic to your web site? But what do you do once the traffic actually comes to your web site? A lot of service professionals report that nothing is happening on the web sites. Even though they have web site traffic coming to their web sites every day, no one is contacting them about their services and no one subscribes to their newsletter.

If you have web site traffic coming to your web site, but no one is actually taking action on your web site, it is time to re-think what you are doing on your web site and start converting this traffic into newsletter subscribers and clients. Here is how:

Make Sure That Your Web Site Traffic Is TARGETED

The only type of traffic that you can turn into newsletter subscribers and clients is targeted web site traffic. When your web site visitors are targeted, meaning your web site visitors are people in your target market, you can invite your web site visitors to become your newsletter subscribers and clients.

If you are receiving untargeted web site traffic, then people who come to your web site are not interested in your offers and will not be interested in becoming your clients.

Make sure that the web site traffic you are attracting is targeted.

Define The ACTION That You Want People To Take

Before you can get results from the web site traffic that comes to your web site, you must define the action that you want your web site visitors to take.

After all, if you don’t know what action your want your web site visitors to take, how are they going to know?

It is hard to convince someone who has never been to your web site before to immediately become your client. It is much easier to convince your first time web site visitors to subscribe to your newsletter instead. The action that you want people who come to your web site to take is to subscribe to your newsletter.

Make It EASY For Your Web Site Visitors To Take Action

Nothing is more frustrating to your web site visitors than not being able to get what they need. If you make it hard for people to find your newsletter or to subscribe to your newsletter, they will leave your web site and go elsewhere.

So make it very easy for your web site visitors to take action on your web site:

– Make your subscription form very visible

– Make the subscription process intuitive

– Offer your web site visitors something of value, to make subscribing to your newsletter a no-brainer

How To Get More Coaching Clients: Top 10 Tips For Promoting Your Coaching Business Online

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Are you looking for more coaching clients for your coaching business? Whether you are a business coach, life coach, or career coach, you can get great results by promoting your coaching business online.

Here are the top 10 tips for getting more clients for your coaching business online:

1. Define the target market for your coaching business. Until you know your target market (your niche), you will not be able to market your coaching business effectively.

2. Find out exactly what your potential clients (people in your target market) need. You can do that by surveying people in your list, doing research on social networking web sites, etc.

3. Decide how to incorporate the needs of your potential clients into your products and services. When you offer people in your target market products and services that they need, you are going to be very successful.

4. Create a web site where your target market can learn about your coaching services. Position your coaching services in terms of benefits to your target market. Your potential clients need to know how they will benefit from your services. Explaining what coaching is and how it works is not nearly as important as explaining the benefits of your services.

5. Create a web site that is effective at converting your website visitors into clients. You must have a clear process for your web site to invite your web site visitors to join your list and become your clients.

6. Start a coaching newsletter for your coaching business. It is much easier to convert your web site visitors into newsletter subscribers first, and then into clients.

7. Add your newsletter subscription box to your web site. You must let your web site visitors know about your newsletter – otherwise they will not be able to subscribe to it!

8. Make sure that your coaching web site can convert your web site visitors into newsletter subscribers. Optimize your web site for the best conversion.

9. Use your newsletter to build relationships with your subscribers and to let them know about your products and services.

10. Measure how your marketing is working – when you know exactly what is working, you will be able to get many more coaching clients.

Simple Strategies For Building Your List

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Many service professionals tell me that the reason they don’t build their lists is because they feel that list building is not easy to do. They don’t have the time to figure out everything that they need to do in order to build their lists, and, as a result, they don’t build their lists.

Unfortunately, when service professionals don’t build their lists they struggle with being visible and getting more clients. Having a list is crucial to being successful in your business. Without a list, you have to struggle and look for clients non-stop. When you have a list, you have a group of people in your target market with whom you can communicate on a regular basis. These are the people who know, like and trust you, so they are much more likely to purchase your products and services.

The great news is that list building does not have to be difficult. Here are three list-building techniques that I use myself and recommend to my clients. These techniques are easy to apply, and they can result in many new newsletter subscribers when you apply them effectively.

Social Networking. Using social networking web sites such as Facebook and Twitter is great for building your list. When you are using social networking for building your list you need to be involved and share tips with your followers. This way, your followers will get to know you, and more of them will be interested in subscribing to your newsletter.

Article Marketing. I love using article marketing for list building. It is effective, works great and you can use it to invite exactly people you want to invite to your list! How do you do that? By writing articles on topics that are of interest to people that you want to invite to your list.

When you submit your article to article directories, it will also include a Resource Box. The Resource Box is a one paragraph description of you and your business and a link back to your web site. Your Resource Box is what is going to help you attract more subscribers to your newsletter.

Blogging. When you are using your blog to build your list, make sure that your blog contains information about your list. Then, bring traffic to your blog by sharing your blog posts on social networking web sites. You can also optimize your blog posts for search engines, so that you can get traffic from search engines as well.
