No matter where you are in the e-book writing process, it is time to start thinking about how to make your e-book as profitable as possible. In fact, the earlier in the e-book writing process you start thinking about making your e-book profitable, the better results you are going to have.
I have had many clients come to me after they have written an e-book and spent a lot of time and money on marketing, only to sell 2-5 copies of the e-book. This usually happened because they wrote and launched an e-book without having a clear process for getting people to buy their e-books and maximizing their e-book revenues.
Before you launch your e-book, you need to find a way to sell as many e-book copies as possible to maximize your e-book revenues. Here is how you can accomplish this:
- Decide on the target market for the e-book. Instead of trying to sell your e-book to everyone, concentrate on a smaller group of people, your target market.
These people are much more likely to purchase what you have to offer, and as a result you will get many more sales.
- Create effective sales copy. Your web site sales copy is what will sell your e-book. Your sales copy is what will make a difference between people buying your e-book and people leaving your web site without buying it.
Make sure that your sales copy is effective at describing the benefits of your e-book and addressing your customers' concerns. Doing this will help you generate more e-book sales.
- Show your customers the benefits of your e-book. This is an extremely important point. Customers will buy your e-book if they see how it will help them and how they will benefit by reading it.
The best way to convince your customers to buy your e-book is by highlighting the benefits of your e-book on your sales page.
- Capture e-mail addresses of people visiting your sales page. Not everyone who is visiting your sales page is going to purchase the e-book immediately. Make sure that you ask people visiting the sales page to subscribe to your newsletter.
People need to hear about you and your e-book seven times on average, before making a decision to buy. If you ask them for their e-mail addresses, you can continue to market them even after they left your web site.
- Create a complete marketing plan for your e-book. The best way to market an e-book is by creating a step-by-step marketing plan and following it. When you have a plan, it is easier to market and you will get better results.
