How To Fill Up Your Local Workshops

In addition to teaching teleseminars over the phone, many coaches and consultants I know also teach local workshops.

A big difference between a local workshop and a teleseminar is that you can have people joining your teleseminar from all over the world. However, only local people or people willing to travel to your location would be able to join you for the workshop.

So how can you get more people to attend your local workshops? I have some ideas for you that you will be able to use:

– Since your workshop is local, promote your workshop locally as much as you can. Use all the tools available to you, newspapers, community centers, libraries.

Start a public relations campaign to get information about you and your workshop into local newspapers.

Optimize your web site for search engines. You can even promote a local event using this method. To do that, make sure you pick keywords that reflect the geographical location of the workshop.

Use your ezine to promote your event. The more local subscribers you have, the better you will be able to promote it.

Ask others to promote your event in exchange for commissions. It is always helpful to have other people helping you market your workshops.

Article Marketing For Coaches, Consultants And Other Service Pros

About two weeks ago we had what seemed to be the last really warm day of the season and decided to go to the lake. Going to the lake is one of my favorite outdoor activities when it’s not too cold.

The walk around the lake was gorgeous. The usual blue lake and blue sky were additionally enhanced with trees with bright red and yellow leaves. Some of the leaves were falling down, but the ones still in the trees were contrasting very nicely with the blue color of the water.

That day we also met some friends for lunch. The conversation around the table turned to the gorgeous weather we were having that day, and how soon this nice weather is going to give way to cold and snow. If winter is coming to your area soon and you want to market more online and less in person, start learning about article marketing and how to use it to get leads and clients for your business!

Article marketing is a great marketing technique that you can use to get clients from the comfort of your office. There are three steps to doing article marketing:

– Write An Article. You do need to write an article in order to start using article marketing. The most effective articles are the ones that are of interest to your target market.

– Create A Resource Box For Each Article. A resource box is what comes right after the article; the 2-4 sentences that include your bio and a link back to your business web site.

– Submit Your Article To Article Directories. To get as much exposure for your article as possible, you need to submit your article to many article directories.

How To Teach People In Groups

More and more people have been asking me how to teach people in groups. Coaches, consultants, tutors and other solopreneurs are looking to make money and get more clients by working with groups instead of just working with clients one-on-one.

So, how do you get started with teaching people in groups? The first two questions you should ask yourself are:

– Who are your target customers?
– What do they need help with?

These are the first two questions that you should answer before deciding on the group format, number of people in a group, pricing, etc.

If you do not know who your customers are and what they need help with, you will not be able to structure your offer effectively and, as a result, will not be able to get people to register.

Do the first thing you need to do is to find your target market. Once you do, find out what issues they are experiencing and what kind of help they need. To get the most people register for your group you will need to offer them something they really want. You will need to create a very compelling offer.

So, what are your target customers interested in? They are interested in solving problems that they are experiencing right now.

Therefore, the best way to get into working with groups is by starting a group on a topic that is of great interest to your target market.

Once you know your target market and once you find topics that your target market is interested in, it will be much easier for you to decide on the format, length and pricing for your group.

How To Market Your Book Online

So you wrote a book, now what? How can you find people who want to buy your book online? Here is how:

Define the target audience for your book – who are the people who want to buy your book? Who is the target market for your book? Your book is very targeted, so you should be able to pinpoint a very specific group of people who wants the information you are sharing in the book.

Start a newsletter to collect the email addresses of people who visit your web site. Not everyone is going to buy your book the first time they visit your web site. If you can’t keep in touch with them AFTER they have visited your web site, you have lost them forever.

If you are able to get their email address you will be able to market your book to them for a long time. Plus, if you decide to offer other products based on your book (teleseminars, ebooks, etc) you will be able to use your e-mail list to promote them as well.

Create a marketing plan for your book. There are lots of things you can do to market your book – article marketing, blogging, search engine optimization, public speaking, etc.

Make sure your plan addresses how to get traffic to your web site, how to turn your traffic into leads and how to turn your leads into buyers.

What If Services Clients Can’t Afford Your Rates?

This is a question that comes up often with my clients.

Many coaches I know want to help many people that need their help, but can’t afford their one-on-one coaching rates. At the same time, coaches still need to make enough money to pay their mortgage and afford other things that their families need.

So how can you marry the two and come up with a win-win solution for everyone? You should do that by offering products and programs in different price ranges.

There are many people who need help, but can’t afford your services. There are thousands of them out there. If you only work with them one-on-one, you can’t help too many of them and you will not have as much time to work with your regular rate clients, the clients whose fees are helping you pay your mortgage.

Instead of doing that, create programs and products in different price ranges. Here is how:

Create group coaching calls for people who can’t afford your one-on-one services. More people will be able to afford these and they will still get the benefit of being coached by you.

Create a membership web site for your customers. I love this, and this is how many of my clients have chosen to work with me. Create and teach teleseminars. This is another great way to help more people in a shorter amount of time.

How Is Your Week?

Wow, the weather was crazy last week. We had heavy thunderstorms for a few days. Some areas have even experienced some flooding. I spent some time last week just watching the rain. At some point all you could see was water, water and more water coming down, non-stop.

After a few days the weather has changed completely. It was nice and sunny, but evidence of the recent downpour was everywhere. The grass and plants didn’t seem to mind the rain at all. The grass went from a very light green color that it usually turns in the summer to a brilliant bright green.

The weather is back to its usual summer heat, but fall is just around the corner. I am looking forward to leaves starting to turn bright yellow and red, as well as fall apples and pumpkins.

Last week was our first class, during which I had taught the participants how to write an effective sales letter. Are You Providing Value?

Do you show value of your products and services when you are selling them online?

You need to ALWAYS show value of what you are selling – whether it is a $7 report or a $5,000 one-on-one coaching package. Whether you only sell products, or you charge per hour, per minute, per project, per pound lost, etc, you need to show the VALUE of what you are offering. No one is going to give you even a dollar if they don’t think that what you offer has value for them.

And this is very true when you are doing business online. You are not “there” when your potential customers are visiting your web site, so the only way they can find out about the value that you offer them is by reading your web copy. If you web copy is not communicating the value that you offer, your potential customers will go elsewhere.

I did an experiment a while ago, where I had a low cost product (under $10) for which I created very short copy. The copy described the product, but not the product’s benefits. The product sold just a few copies.

Another product on the same topic was more expensive, but it had more web copy written for it, discussing the value and benefits in addition to describing the product.

I sent a lot of traffic to both products. The second product sold many more copies.

Consumers need to know what value they are going to receive when they buy your products or services. It is not the price alone that the consumers are after. You have to explain the value of the product well enough, so that your consumers understand the value of what you are getting, no matter how you are charging.
